Empowering Iran’s Future: Schools, Health, and Hope in 2024

LUKE 10 is cooperating with Moms Against Poverty in their humanitarian work with Iranian children. In 2023 alone, Moms Against Poverty constructed 20 new schools in communities with no access to education, distributed school supplies to over 1,000 impoverished students, and conducted empowerment workshops for youth and female heads of households from marginalized communities, amongst many other humanitarian projects.

The organization’s healthcare initiatives included building a healthcare center in Markazi Province and providing critical medical equipment to hospitals across the country. Moms Against Poverty expanded its hunger relief initiatives, supplying food to orphanages across the country, providing breakfast to nearly 4,000 nomadic students in South Khorasan province, and distributing food vouchers to thousands of families hit by natural disasters or facing food insecurity.

Orphan care initiatives included establishing a new orphanage for girls aged 7 to 18+ in Tehran province.

Your donations will help the organization sustain and expand these life-saving and life-changing programs, ensuring that impoverished and marginalized children, women, and families in Iran continue to receive the support they so desperately need to thrive and be empowered.

Moms Against Poverty
Their Story

In 1999, Delfarib Fanaie and her husband, Farshid Samsami, traveled to their home country of Iran, with the intent of adopting a child. The journey lasted several years as they adopted not one, but three children. Their travels took them to various orphan care centers in Tehran, where they witnessed first-hand the needs of many children.

In 2006, while adopting her third child, Delfarib Fanaie met a young girl by the name of Sepideh who asked her, “why can’t you take me with you?” Stirred by this experience, with no way to respond to this sweet girl, Delfarib knew her life would never be the same. She became determined to inspire friends, family, and co-workers to help impoverished children.

Moms Against Poverty was founded in 2008 as a volunteer-based nonprofit organization by Delfarib, and a group of friends who were inspired by her and shared the same passion. Subsequently, Moms Against Poverty launched its mission and programs with a holistic approach toward ending childhood poverty, guided by the principles and philosophy of Ladan Judge. Aligned with Delfarib’s vision, together they breathed life into this dream.

Since then, thanks to the dedication and hard work of many individuals, Moms Against Poverty has become a community of like-minded individuals spanning the globe with the belief that every act of kindness, no matter how small, can radically change the life of a child and generations to come.

Changing The World, One Child at a Time

Moms Against Poverty is a global 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission to nurture and educate underprivileged children to their fullest potential, so that one day they can contribute and lead within their own communities and break the cycle of poverty. Our work is holistically minded, advancing communities one program at a time toward well-being and self-sufficiency.

First, we address children's basic needs, such as food, shelter, and healthcare. Then, using education and vocational programs, we provide them with the tools and environment they need to thrive and become successful members of their community and the world at large.

Their Mission

We believe in empowering underprivileged children while respecting their individuality and maintaining their dignity and self-esteem. Positive change and healing are not only possible, but probable, when these children are treated with compassion and provided guidance and support. By empowering individuals and communities, we create a lasting impact and forge a path toward ending the cycle of generational poverty.
